There are quite a few manga where the main (male) character is being chased by several
beautiful girls, yet where he can't decide which to pick, or worse: he's afraid of them.
This manga falls into the last category, except that Shingo has a good reason for it:
the girl that proposed to him was extremely ugly and after running away scared, she beat
him up so badly, he had to spend a month in hospital.
It's no surprise that after this ordeal he's scared of women
and looks at them if they were lizards. After his return to school he hopes to join some
martial arts club to be able to fight back, but unfortunately stumbles on the boxing club,
which has members he doesn't want to meet, including the girl that beat him up: except she
doesn't appear to be who she used to be.
